Howto Obtain 50 BMG Victoria

When the The Long Range Shooting Club Mildura was started, we worked with Licensing and Regulation Division Victoria to provide genuine reason to be able to own a 50BMG rifle in Victoria.

The 50 BMG rifle are only to be used for target shooting. This is where our association with the Fifty Caliber Shooters Association of American started. With permission of the FCSA, we started running and hosting FCSA match events. From here we were then able to submit a proposal with LRD that provided a genuine reason to own a 50 BMG in Victoria.

When submitting your permit to purchase you will need a certificate of membership from the LRSC which acknowledge and certify that you are approved to compete and use .50 BMG in club competitions: Fifty Calibre Shooters Association of America Events & SSAA Long Range Precision Events

To be eligible for a certificate of membership you need to do the following:
1. Hold a current club membership with Long Range Shooting Club – Mildura
2. Participate and use a 50 BMG rifle in 3 events with LRSC, Once you have successfully participated in 3 events we will generate and post your certificate of membership

Permit to acquire process
When submitting your permit to purchase for 50 BMG please ensure that you send a copy of your certificate of membership to compete and use .50 BMG in club competitions to LRD
